“I was taught at a young age to volunteer, so I’ve been doing it my whole life. When I moved to Moncton, I was retired and there was an ad in the paper looking for volunteers in Palliative Care. I had experience and knew I could give back. After six months in Palliative, I was asked if I’d like to volunteer in Oncology as well.

 

The old Oncology Clinic was cramped, there was hardly any privacy or any room for family to visit. The new clinic is wide open, nurses can see their patients, there are curtains around every bed for more privacy; visitors always comment on how much more comfortable the new space is. The money raised by the Friends Foundation did that and I can see how much of a difference it makes. These people deserve it.” – Kathleen
